Citywalk

Citywalk

✨ A slow and soulful walk through Putian, Fujian — where coastal charm meets old Minnan culture.

No fixed plans, just local life unfolding: morning street breakfasts, red-brick alleys, ancient temples, and quiet bookstores. 🏮

📍 Trip Highlights:

1️⃣ Shizi Street (十字街)

Putian’s beloved old quarter! Narrow lanes lined with traditional arcade-style buildings, full of morning chatter and sizzling woks.

🍳 Don’t miss Qiusheng Fried Bun Shop (下十字街238号) — crispy golden buns filled with juicy pork, a true Putian-style breakfast.

2️⃣ Guqiaolou (Ancient Bell Tower)

A historic tower reborn as a cozy bookstore café. Sip coffee, flip through local art books, and watch the slow rhythm of the old town from above.

3️⃣ Xinghua Prefecture Cultural Block (大路街426号)

A stunning blend of red-brick Minnan houses, stone bridges, and canal reflections — the perfect spot for photographers.

Hidden inside are vintage cafés and art shops that keep the nostalgic spirit alive.

4️⃣ Putian Overseas Chinese Culture Museum (大路街205号)

Small but fascinating — tells the story of how locals sailed to Southeast Asia, shaping the “Overseas Chinese” legacy of Fujian.

5️⃣ Wenfeng Palace, Fengshan Temple & Yuanmiao Taoist Temple (Sanqing Hall)

These three spiritual landmarks lie close together and reflect Putian’s deep-rooted faith.

Wenfeng Palace (文献东路329号) opens from 5 AM — lively incense scenes at dawn. Sanqing Hall (梅园东路391号), the oldest Taoist temple in Fujian, is a quiet architectural gem (closed Mondays). Inside, don’t miss the folk photography exhibit showing fire walking, lantern festivals, and iron-flower rituals — proof that Putian’s folk traditions are still alive and fiery! 🔥

💬 Whether you’re into temples, heritage streets, or authentic local bites, Putian is Fujian’s underrated cultural gem waiting to be explored.
