Wenzhou is a city best explored at a slow pace — especially when it comes to food.

No fancy restaurants, just following the aroma through old alleys and finding warmth in every bowl.

🍲 Lao Cangqiao Pig Offal Noodles (Wuma Street)

A bowl that surprises you with its tenderness.

The soup is light yet rich, the noodles bouncy, and the sticky rice side dish adds a nostalgic twist — crunchy and soft at once, just like the city itself.

🍮 Dengdengduo Almond Tofu (Wuma Street)

Thin, crystal-like almond jelly topped with fruits and syrup.

I prefer the old-fashioned silky kind — maybe because that’s where the almond fragrance feels most sincere.

Their “ice cream with egg” mix was unexpectedly good — sweet, cold, and a little romantic.

🥮 Bientou Lantern Cake (Gulou Street)

Crispy outside, savory inside — filled with shredded radish, pork, and egg.

And don’t miss the sweet lard rice cake: soft, fragrant, and nostalgic, like happiness hiding in an old alley.

🥣 Shouying Pig Offal Noodles (Cangqiao Branch)

Served in a steaming iron bowl, richer and deeper than yesterday’s.

A quiet shop, no crowds — just warmth in every spoonful.

🍜 Gaogong Bridge Old Shop

Their lean pork balls weren’t fancy, but comforting.

That’s Wenzhou food for you — simple, humble, and quietly heartwarming.

After two days and five small eateries, my feet were tired but my heart was full.

Travel isn’t always about destinations — sometimes it’s about the moments that make you smile for no reason.
